New Year Edition: Renewing Your Faith in Love After a Breakup

According to Stephanie Robert's piece on "Improve Your Luck with Feng Shui," before any changes can happen, we must understand that lack of love in your life can be due to impaired energy.

" A key principle of Feng Shui is that everything is connected energetically. This means that your thoughts, feelings, and behavior are influenced by your surroundings. An untidy bedroom contributes to an atmosphere of fatigue and depression, which in turn makes it harder for you to find the energy to clean up. In Feng Shui terms, it also undermines your ability to attract and maintain a joyful and fulfilling romantic attachment."

After my breakup, I had feelings of anger, rejection, unworthiness and fear creep up. Robert suggests that after-breakup periods require quite solitude, for repair and spiritual healing.

Here is How You Can Heal Yourself with Feng Shui
  • Remove old objects from your household, living space. This means discarding or removing any reminiscent of your ex, past lover including pictures, clothes, bedding, relics, gifts, or any other visible objects that require you to hold on to the past. Those objects/possessions can create stagnated energy . In turn, keep your living space tidy to

A Day In the Life of Redefining Myself in 2012

It is the New Year 2012 and many people around the world are ready to renew their lives with new goals, aspirations and New Year resolutions. Let's all work towards the best.

I know all about this first hand.

I would say things started to take a turn for the worse for me in November (things always seem to take a turn for the worse as the holiday times fast approach). I quit my job working as a hostess at an independent chain in Austin, TX in hopes of redirecting my career life in a more "stable" industry called retail.

BIG MISTAKE.

I ended up making 60% less at my new job than my old & to be honest ... my new position at Vickies was harsh and challenging. My life began to spiral out of control by early December. I was barely making ends meet and what's worse...?... no money for bills or holiday shopping [ouch].

My love life suffered as well. As my pockets flattened, I found out my love interest of 2 month was not the person I thought he was. We broke up and I was heart-broken.

So two smacked downs in less than three months and I am feeling discouraged, pessimistic, lonely, poor, unhealthy and sad. And gosh, just really really sad.

Upon Jan. 1st, I made up my mind that I will not wallow and indulge myself in self-pity. Don't get me wrong, from time-to-time, I get lonely and it upsets me. I am still job hunting for something better, and that can be challenging and frustrating. But I know I cannot wallow in self-pity and if I want to make some positive moves in general, I have to pick myself up and dust myself off.

Job losses, layoffs and break-ups drain you and can have a negative impact on your self-esteem. With Feng Shui though, there is something we can do about those changes that throw us off guard.

Above is a post that I hope will inspire anyone going through challenges and how to actively make a change so the going gets good. Reference is by FengShui.com. I encourage you to read the article in full when you get some time.

The Benefits of Citrus: Rid Area Negative Energy

According to Feng Shui 77, the scent of citrus can fend off negative energy in any given space. Here is how you can make your own cirtus fragrance to deflect negative karma.

Purchase fresh oranges from a grocery. Scratch its peel with your fingernails to make certain that the scent is strong.

Feng Shui 77

  1. Peel three fresh oranges, and tear each peel into nine pieces (for a total of 27 pieces), and place the pieces in a large bowl. Add about a cup of fresh (preferably filtered) water.

  2. Standing in the center of each room, dip your fingers in the orange-scented water and gently flick some of it in all directions. At the same time, visualize negative chi being dispersed from the space, and repeat the mantra om mani padme hum nine times.

  3. Then, take a piece of orange peel and break off little bits of it, scattering them all around the perimeter of each room.

  4. Leave the orange peel for 24 hours. The orange peels will absorb negative chi, which you can then easily sweep or vacuum up and throw away.

If you have excess orange peel and water left in the bowl after step 3, save it!. Place the bowl in the center of the house for 24 hours.

Additional Benefits of Citrus Fragrance

  • Helps promote relaxation
  • Relieves muscle tension
  • Treats insomnia, nervousness, melancholy, and anxiety
  • Citrus is anticoagulant, anti-inflammatory and antiseptic and helps to rid the body from toxins

Celebs and that Benefit From Feng Shui

The sky is the limit when it comes to individual success, happiness, and prosperity. To many wealthy and famous figures, feng shui can be one of their philosophies of choice. Uber-successful stars, masterminds and public figures like Oprah Winfrey, Donald Trump, Bill Gates, Cher, Carmen Electra, Sopia Loren, Richard Branson, Rob Lowe, and the ever-so dashing, George Clooney -- to name a few -- used feng shui to help them amass great financial wealth and career success through the art of presentation, organization and positive energy flow.

How Feng Shui Helped The Donald: According to Lucky Feng Shui For Life, Donald Trump hired feng shui Master Pun-Yin to help him gain prosperity and prestige over Trump Towers. "Following feng shui principles, the main entrance was placed facing the Central Park to receive all positive chi for prosperity and success. To eliminate fast, killing chi headed straight at the building from the traffic, Master Pun-Yin recommended to place a globe in front of the building."

According to Yvonne Philips article on Donald Trump knows Feng Shui, Do You? The Donald goes by the feng shui bagua to chart out his success pattern:
